This first week has been very interesting. I attended many meetings which gave me a peek into what working on a research project looks like. In these meetings we touched on the various stages of different projects; these stages were, brainstorming, planning, and review/critiquing. As of yesterdary, 5/27, I’ve been assigned to work with a PHD student named Kathleen and together we will be working on a project which strives to change student’s perspectives on CS as a career field. We essentailly want to bring awareness that working in CS can bring about positive social change, rather than just contribute to modern convenience. There will be more to come on what work I will do for this project, but until then, I will continue to sit in on the meetings set up by my mentor.
